THE PERFORMANCE ACT
Two practitioners, one shared commitment — walking alongside athletes, coaches, and whānau across Aotearoa to grow hauora through sport.
Behind every programme is a genuine relationship. Our work is built on trust, expertise, and a deep respect for the people and communities we serve. We don’t just deliver content — we walk alongside you.
Director of Performance Psychology
Registered Psychologist
Jason is a registered psychologist with over a decade of experience working at the intersection of performance, wellbeing, and human development. His career has spanned elite sport, organisational leadership, and community settings — always grounded in a commitment to helping people perform under pressure and grow through challenge.
Across his career, Jason has worked with a wide variety of teams and athletes throughout the high performance sport system — supporting Olympians, world championship athletes, and coaches through some of the most demanding environments in sport. But his work extends well beyond the podium — from people taking on their first marathon to coaches navigating the pressures of their own development.
Jason brings particular depth in leadership development, coach education, and team building. His ability to translate the insights of performance psychology into practical, human-centred tools is what makes his work resonate across environments — from the sideline to the boardroom.
Registered Clinical Psychologist
Registered Clinical Psychologist
James is a registered clinical psychologist whose work sits at the intersection of clinical practice, sport, and coaching. With a background spanning community mental health and elite sporting environments, he brings a breadth of understanding to the people and contexts he works with.
Having spent nine years involved in coaching and played rugby across a range of competitive environments, James understands the demands of sport from the inside. This lived experience, combined with four years working in sport psychology, shapes the way he connects with athletes and coaches — not as an outside expert, but as someone who genuinely understands the environment.
James’s research into effective coaching conversations reflects his commitment to bridging the gap between evidence and practice. His clinical experience — including work within kaupapa Māori health settings and the Department of Corrections — has deepened his understanding of diverse contexts and strengthened his ability to walk alongside people from all walks of life.
